Spatial Design Hub - Company Profile
Spatial Design Hub is a leading GIS consultancy and urban intelligence studio, specialising in the integration of geospatial data, digital platforms, and smart city innovation. Founded by James O’Brien, the company has delivered data-driven solutions for over 15 years across the fields of urban planning, mobility, transport infrastructure, and large-scale regeneration.
We support clients ranging from national transport agencies to global design practices and developers, delivering projects that bridge the gap between vision and implementation. Our UK portfolio includes geospatial platforms for Network Rail, smart mobility tools funded by the UK Department for Transport, and GIS consultancy on major regeneration projects such as King’s Cross, Brent Cross and Old Oak Common in London.
Internationally, we have contributed to landmark projects in Saudi Arabia, including NEOM The Line, North Pole in Riyadh, and Al Rabita, where we provided pedestrian demand modelling, connectivity analysis, and accessibility insights to key daily needs. These projects demonstrate our ability to deliver future-ready geospatial intelligence on some of the world’s most ambitious urban visions.
Our proprietary platforms, Urban Access and Spatial IQ, bring together accessibility modelling, and digital twins to provide insights on connectivity, liveability, and sustainability. These tools are helping masterplanners to design neighbourhoods that are more inclusive, resilient, and future-ready.
At Spatial Design Hub, we combine deep technical expertise with a design-led approach. This allows us to deliver not just data, but actionable intelligence that supports creative decision-making, enhances collaboration, and enables more sustainable and people-focused outcomes. By fusing innovation, spatial analytics, and practical delivery, we ensure that every project we work on is grounded in evidence, powered by technology, and aligned with the needs of future cities.
